Nightmare City Blog Tour

Nightmare City

Tom Harding only wants the truth. But the truth is becoming more dangerous with every passing minute.

As a reporter for his high school newspaper, Tom Harding was tracking the best story of his life when, suddenly, his life turned very, very weird. He woke up one morning to find his house empty . . . his street empty . . . his whole town empty . . . empty except for an eerie, creeping fog and whatever creatures were slowly moving toward him through the fog.

Now Tom s once-ordinary world has become something out of a horror movie. How did it happen? Is it real? Is he dreaming? Has there been a zombie apocalypse? Has he died and gone to hell?

Tom is a good reporter he knows how to look for answers but no one has ever covered a story like this before. With the fog closing in and the hungry creatures of the fog surrounding him, he has only a few hours to find out how he lost the world he knew. In this bizarre universe nothing is what it seems and everything including Tom s life hangs in the balance.

  Tom Harding & The Truth

If I had to pick my favorite thing about the character Tom Harding — the main character in Nightmare City — it would be his passion for the truth. That passion is a lot more rare than you might think. All of us think we believe in telling the truth, but a lot of times we believe in it more in theory than in practice! The truth can make you unpopular — in fact, it often makes you unpopular. The truth can hurt. The truth can make you feel bad about yourself.

Tom’s a high school newspaper reporter, and he seeks out the truth by nature. He just has this natural passion to solve any mystery he comes across. So he writes a newspaper about how the high school’s championship football team used illegal performance enhancing drugs. And of course, the whole school instantly turns against him. From his point of view, he’s just doing his job, just telling the truth. But from the school’s point of view, he’s shaming the team, making them look bad. He’s a traitor!

So now, one morning, for no reason he can figure, Tom wakes up and his hometown is empty — empty except for these weird figures moving around in the mist and these voices from beyond the grave. And so Tom has to find out the truth about what happens - and as his hunt gets more and more bizarre, it also becomes more and more personal, until he has to start facing some truths he’d rather not face at all.

That’s what makes the book tick: The scariest nightmares in Nightmare City aren’t the ghosts and monsters. The scariest nightmares are the truths Tom doesn’t want to face.
