Winter Falls (Twin Willows, #1)
 Winter Falls
(Twin Willows Trilogy #1)
Published: December 22nd, 2014
Alessia Jacobs is a typical sixteen-year-old, dying to get out of her small town of Twin Willows, Maine. Things look up when a new family comes to town, but when she falls for the hot, mysterious son, Jonah, her life turns upside down.

Weird visions of transforming into an otherworldly falcon are just the beginning. Soon she learns she’s part of the Benandanti, an ancient cult of warriors with the unique power to separate their souls from their bodies and take on the forms of magnificent animals.

Alessia never would’ve suspected it, but her boring town is the site of an epic struggle between the Benandanti and the Malandanti to control powerful magic in the surrounding forest.

As Alessia is drawn into the Benandanti’s mission, her relationship with Jonah intensifies. When her two worlds collide, Alessia’s forced to weigh choices a sixteen-year-old should never have to make.

Winter Falls (Twin Willows, #1)  In the Mouth of the Wolf (Twin Willows, #2)

WINTER FALLS was a refreshing read that I quickly got lost within and couldn't stop reading until the very end. The fresh world building and addicting characters, with the magical blend of shapeshifters, was enough to have me hooked from the beginning to end!

I loved the world building of WINTER FALLS. I liked how it was setup to be a boring little town, and then quickly, when it's secrets were revealed, the plot takes a 360. I always enjoy plots that seem to be one way, but actually, the world goes deeper then the characters ever thought. And WINTER FALLS definitely delivered on that aspect.

Alessia lives in the boring little town of Willow Falls, Maineu, where nothing ever happens and her life is as boring as it gets. But then when a new family with a mysteriously hot son named Jonah moves to town, Alessia life seems to be on the up and up, until everything turns to chaos...

Alessia starts to have weird visions of becoming an otherworldly falcon, and as much as she tries, she can't shack'em to save her life. And then there's the mysterious new boy that she's falling hard for. But then Alessia starts to realize that her visions are real, and their telling her something, secrets, history, the future, something she's determined to find out.

As Alessia and Jonah start to get closer, and some secrets he's been harboring surface, she realizes everything is not what she thought, and there are powers at work greater then herself. And then when the truth is finally revealed, Alessia can hardly believe what she learns. She is part of the Benandanti, an ancient cult of warriors with the unique power to separate their souls from their bodies and take on the forms of magnificent animals. But that's not all of her problems, there is an epic struggle between the Benandanti and the Malandanti for the control of the powerful magic in the surrounding forest, and Alessia is caught dead smack in the middle of it all...

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and all it's hidden secrets. I will definitely be continuing this series, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys paranormal books with shapeshifters, magic, war, and an overall battle to overcome the obstacles that have been put in there path!! I can't wait until the second book, IN THE MOUTH OF THE WOLF releases June 2015!!!!

NOTE: I received a physical ARC from Medallion Press for reviewing purposes! All opinions express are my own and are not influenced in any way!
