Sixteen-year-old streetwise orphan, Jax Stone is an expert at surviving in a dangerous city, where rats rival the homeless for food and shelter, but she’s an amateur at fighting the immoral mayor when he kidnaps her little brother. Desperation demands she quickly master the role of courageous opponent. She uses her hypnotic singing voice to lead rats to their death, and all the children to safety, in a dying city cursed by the deadly sun.

RATGIRL was a entertaining adventure that kept me turning the pages faster then I could read them! I have to give the author a lot of props for creating this different kind of amazing dystopian novel!

This fascinating new to take set in a futuristic dystopian world, where the sun is too hot to live under, and underground, the rats are to smart and furious to live with.

This book had me from the beginning and never let up! It was full of full-blown action, and adventure around every corner. And this is the kinda book that had me staying up late, demanding just one more chapter!

Jax is a survivor, and she fights until the very end, and is willing to do anything that needs to be done to help the ones she cares for! I loved Jax, she was strong, determined, and your overall bad-a** chick!

I loved the rats part in this dystopian world. It was fascinating to see how the the rats intertwined with the plot!

RATGIRL is for ANY dystopian/Apocalypse fan out there! It's sure to satisfy any craving for a heart-throbbing adventure like no other! This new take in a dystopian world has everything a readers could want, action, adventure, survival, determination, sacrifice, and what's any book without romance? This is it! It's all packed into one explosive read!

NOTE: I was given a copy of RATGIRL for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and are not influence in any way.

  4. Great review, Alicia! I love dystopian stories, especially if they bring something new and fresh to the table :) This book reminds me a bit of the premise of Enclave, but there are obvious differences that I think I'd enjoy! I definitely enjoyed the trailer and am looking forward to giving this book a shot! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us!

  7. A love re-tellings because the author gets to put their own new spin on a classic story. I've heard of fairy tales being told in modern times but in the future or an alternative universe is a new one. I will definitely take a closer look at this book.
