Broken Faith (Spiritual Discord, #1)
The Spiritual Discord Series
Book 1

Sci-Fi / Fantasy
Date Published: April 2, 2013

This was it. The moment Heaven and Hell would clash. But which unearthly being would win? The Fallen Angel or the Hell Hounds?

Overtaken by fear, I close my eyes.

Kayson is a Fallen Angel who has spent decades running from the Hell Hounds while searching for something that no one else believes can be so, not even God. Kayson is determined to find a Blood Child. But when a hound finds Kayson first, he is sure his end has come.
Falon, Alpha of the Hell Hounds, destroyer of the blood children, and devoted believer in his master’s plan, is bound and determined to drag Kayson back to Hell with him.
Sabrina is a Vampire, a half-breed created from one of Lucifer’s original blood children. After years of hiding, Sabrina’s fate changes when she finds Kayson barely alive. Against her instincts, Sabrina saves him. Now she and Kayson are both marked by the Hell Hounds.
Emma is an ordinary human, whose only problem is making ends meet, and getting over the hurt caused by her untrustworthy brother. Her everyday problems become supernatural ones when she finds Kayson and Sabrina hiding in her parent’s backyard shed.

Kayson, Sabrina and Emma are unlikely allies, thrown together by chance to fight against the most powerful creatures of the underworld in order to follow their world-changing quest. But will the broken faith of one break the faith of all?

interview

1.) How did you come up with the idea for Broken Faith?

It's actually a weird story.  You know how they say you can draw inspiration from anything if you really open yourself up.  Well, I was driving home from New York last year, saw two road signs, and I became inspired to write a story with a town called, Steely Hollow.  Long story short, 1200 miles later I had the outline complete and couldn't wait to get started.

2.) What was your favorite part about this book and why?

That's a tough one!  I guess I would say my favorite part is Sabrina confronting Kayson about his fall.  Any scene with Sabrina really.  Her backstory is also my favorite of all the characters.  It really shows why she is the way she is.

3.) Did you enjoy writing "Broken Faith" or did you find it difficult to write after you started writing?

I loved, absolutely loved writing this book!  There never once was a time I felt frustrated, had difficulty, or wanted it to be over.

4.) If their was one thing you change about this book what would it be and why?

I think if I was to go back and rewrite the story, I would change Emma's friends involvement.  I would introduce them more at the beginning instead of waiting until the middle of the story.  But in book 2 that will be greatly worked up, what with them all camping out together at Emma's for a while.

5.) How many books do you plan on writing in this series?

I'm not sure.  At this point I plan for four but even I don't know how the story may change or twist along the way.  Even as the author of the story, I can still surprise myself :)

6.) Did you feel your readers would feel comfortable with such a big cliffhanger at the end?

I did, and I hope that they are.  I thought that it was a good wrap up to let readers get an idea of what's to come.

7.) Can you give us a little spoiler and or phrase/sentence from "Broken Faith"?

"Angels, hell hounds, vampires, and now ghosts.  Great!." -Emma

8.) Is their anything you would like to say to your readers?

Thanks for all the support and words of kindness!  It absolutely means the world to me.

 review

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Everything you are about to read is my full and honest opinion about the book!

OMG! Brandy Nacole never seems to disappoint~! This was AMAZING!!! In this new Spiritual, Supernatural twist, has took me on a ride like NO other and BLOWN ME AWAY! Just like all the other books Brandy has written! This one Truly ROCKED!

When I first read the synopsis I was a little skeptical, not because it didn't sound good because it sounded amazing, but because I'm not really one to get into books about heaven and hell, God and Lucifer. It's just never been my thing! But finally I caved, and the description won me over, and I gave it a try! And Boy am I glad I did because this book ranks up there with my top favorite books of the year! But that's no surprise because Brandy seems to always be on my top favorite list of books!

This book starts off on full speed! As soon as the Prologue starts were thrown into an amazing action scene! This book has four different POV, but is still very easy to follow. I usually don't like different POV's in a book, but the way Brady has done it she has truly captivated me!

Heaven and Hell is gonna collide in this action packed Spiritual novel!

Kayson is a Fallen Angel that searches earth for something he believes in, and is eager to prove that his beliefs are true (I don't want to tell you what his beliefs are because it will spoil the book)! He has been running from the Hell Hounds since he has fallen from heaven and their about to finally catch up to him!

Sabrina is a Vampire, who is also on the run from the Hell Hounds sought out to destroy ALL blood children created by Lucifer’s blood, and Sabrina is one of them! She is a half breed. She was created by one of Lucifer's blood children but not by his direct blood. So she did NOT pledge her loyalty to Lucifer! She has been able to escape from their grasp many of times and also has been hiding while trying to stay off the hounds radar for over a hundred of years and hasn't got caught yet! But all that changes when Kayson and Sabrina's lives collide!

Emma is just a human girl living her normal everyday life when she discovers a fallen Angel and a Vampire hiding out in her parents shed! But Emma's normal life is about to change when Hell comes knocking on her door! Emma is confused and lost about her feelings of the Angel and the Vampire. Are they real, and if so she could be in a whole sh*t load of trouble! She doesn't know if she should stay and help or turn them away to their fates with the Hounds! What can she do, she's just a normal human with no powers or no super strength!

Falon is a Fallen Angel also or should I say use to be a fallen Angel! He is now next in command after the devil himself! He is Alpha to all Hell Hounds set out to destroy ALL blood Children of Lucifer's! He wants Kayson and he wants him BAD! He is willing to destroy anyone or anything that gets in his way!

So will Kayson and Sabrina be able to evade Falon's Hounds and prove Kayson's beliefs are true or will Falon succeed in bringing the Angel and Vampire to their demise??? And will Emma have enough courage to help in a battle between Heaven and Hell that's been brewing for hundreds and hundreds of years??? Well if you want those answers and more your going to have to read it and find out! Trust me you WON'T be disappointed I wasn't!

Overall this book is a MUST READ for anyone that likes Vampires, Angels and other kinds of crazy Supernatural Beings with a TON of action and just a touch of romance! This book is an EASY 5 stars! I can't wait for the sequel because this book ends on one hell of a cliffhanger!

excerpt

Take A Look Inside Broken Faith

Branches scrape at my skin as I run through the dense forest. My heart is beating with a terrifying force. I can hear the beast close in on me, ready for the kill. His growls echo through the forest. I don’t know where he is, I just know I have to keep moving.
I feel like a coward for being so terrified. Once, I would have stood unwavering, waiting for the beast to show his face. But since my powers were stripped−my wings torn away−I have been left defenseless, weak, and vulnerable to the beasts set out to destroy me.
I run as fast as I can, never faltering. I may not have my powers anymore, but I still have the agility that was so unique to the angels. Moving and gliding with the winds and earth, flowing with the water as it flows lazily through the fields, to become terrorizing rapids through the twists and turns of some faraway canyon.
I burst out of the thicket that is hindering my progress, and see nothing but a dead end up ahead. I still do not falter. I make a hard left to climb up the ravine, hoping that the forest is more open at the top. That’s when the beast steps out in front of me.
The being is massive, his tremendous weight and size is such that as he passes between two trees, branches snap, and large bushes are crushed underneath his feet. I’m expecting him to attack me, pounce on the poor defenseless being he sees before him. Instead, he shifts out of his beastly form into the human disguise that he uses to inflict havoc into this world.
“That was quite a chase. I must say I haven’t had a rush like that in quite some time.” His smile is taunting.
I give him nothing; say nothing, not letting him get the satisfaction out of my fear. That’s what the hound wants, he wants to feed on me before killing me. My fear and poor show of bravery, however, is obvious, and it is feeding his pathetic excuse for a soul.
“Unfortunately for you, it will be your last attempt at saving your life.”
He lunges at me, his beast-like yet still human claws balling into fists as he tries connecting with my face. I dodge his blow as I unsheathe the only weapon I have, my trusty sword.
The beast steps back for a moment, taking in the sword in my hand. A menacing smile spreads across his face before he lunges for me again. I swing my sword out, going straight for his head. If I can get enough momentum and find the right angle, I can take his head off and end his reign of terrorizing evil.
He blocks my blow with his forearm, while his other fist connects with my ribs. I can hear as the bones break, the pain shooting through my abdomen. Ignoring the pain, I take another swing at him, but it’s blocked again as he grabs the blade, yanking me forward, the momentum smashing me into a tree.
I turn, swinging my sword with all my might. It doesn’t connect with his head but it does land a blow against his side, doing some damage. The beast screams out in pain, clenching at his side. Then it looks up at me, pure hatred and disgust radiates from the menacing scowl on the human mask it wears. “You will feel the true wrath of the hounds. I was trying to be lenient in your death but now you will have no mercy.”
The man shifts back into his true form. His smooth skin stretches, as black fur covers his body. His hands become sharp claws, and his snout extends, as razor sharp teeth that can rip skin and break through bone erupt from its jaw. When the hound stands on his back legs he towers over me by more than three feet. Snapping his jaw of razor-sharp teeth at me, I swing my sword, connecting with his snout. The tear in his skin is barely a scratch.
With lightning speed, my sword is torn from my hand as his jaws close on it and he tears it away, tossing it through the air. I know I’m no match against this beast without it. Seeing the hilt sticking up from the ground, I roll in the direction of the sword to retrieve it. The hound swipes at me with a long clawed hand, tearing into my back as I roll by him. With no time for slip-ups, I ignore the pain and continue for the sword. I can hear the beast coming after me, though this particular spot in the woods is thick with trees instead of bushes and briars, making it harder for him to move.
The beast swipes at me again through the trees, catching my leg in his grasp. Bones snap as he twists my leg, lifting me up off the ground. I scream out but continue to reach out and grab at the sword’s hilt. Pulling the sword from the ground, I swing it through the air, stabbing the hound’s hand to release me. It growls and lets me go. I land on the ground with a thud. My shoulder takes the brunt of the blow.
A loud snarl fills the air as the hound lunges for me. His jaws snap at me, ready to bite me in half. But he can’t move; his shoulders are stuck between two trees. He tries pushing forward through the trees as he stretches his neck to get a hold on me. But the hound makes no leeway past the trees. I know I can’t move in this condition, my leg is too busted up to carry me very far. My panic rises as the trees start to creak and snap from the force of the weight being pushed against them.
With each snap, the hound’s slavering muzzle comes closer. The beast lets out a growl so loud I cover my ears, then he pushes harder, snapping the tree with his mass and strength. Just as he’s about to deliver the final blow, I stab my sword up, piercing his jaw and coming out through the top of his head. The hound collapses to the ground. I guard myself as the hound falls, landing extremely close to me. His massive body shakes the ground, cracking the dry dirt.
I use my arms to drag myself away from the menacing heap of fur. Once I’m a safe distance from the hound lying on the ground, I pull myself up. I do my best to keep the weight off my busted leg. I have no choice but to leave my sword behind. The hilt is jammed under the hound, and I don’t have the strength or time to pull it out from under him.
I slowly climb out of the ravine, knowing I have to get away as fast as I can. I know the other hounds will be coming. It may take some time, but they will come. If only I had killed the hound before he unleashed the hell call.

The Iron Locket Blog Tour
with Review & Giveaway

By: Samantha Warren

The Iron Locket (Risen King, #1)
Publication: April 18th 2013

Risen King Series
Book 1

She was raised to hunt faeries. He was raised from the dead.

***

Aiofe Callaghan comes from a long line of faery hunters. Hired by one of the faery queens, they protect the human world from chaos and destruction. But when Aiofe stumbles through an open door into the land of Faery, she discovers the job isn't as simple as it seems, nor is she.

Arthur Pendragon spent centuries in blissful nothingness, until the day the four queens banded together to raise him from the dead. Along with his twelve most talented knights, he leads the warring armies of Faery against the greatest enemy they have ever known: one of their own.

Can they overcome their differences to confront the greatest challenges either of them have ever faced?

Samantha WarrenSamantha Warren is a fantasy and science fiction author who spends her days immersed in dragons, spaceships, and vampires.

In the name of research, she enlisted the help of her pet dragon Anethesis and together they built a Noah’s Ark-like spaceship. Three trips through a hole in the time-space continuum allowed the pair to explore the universe decades into the past and eons into the future. They discovered how life would be without Earth and were forced to run from alien law enforcement when their spaceship was deemed unspaceworthy. In the long run, the constant demands of space travel and repairs cut into Samantha’s sock fetish fund, so she was forced to sell her ark for half-price to a slimy creature that made Jabba the Hutt look like Brad Pitt.

After her years of traveling, she returned to her roots. When she isn’t writing or reading, she is milking cows or trying to feed them Pop-Tarts and FiberOne bars (they like neither). She also spends a lot of time in her weed patch (aka: garden), drinking lattes at the Village Cafe, or watching any show featuring Gordon Ramsay. Anethesis remains by her side, sleeping away the day and hunting evil cat-eating coyotes by night

Mythoughts2

I must say that this book is very different then what I'm use too, but I still enjoyed it very much. The writing was great and sucked me in from the beginning. And the plot just caught my attention and I was very intrigued from reading the description, so I knew I was going to enjoy it!

The book did start off a little slower then I would of hoped for, but once it got in to the main plot it took off and I was sucked into the world that Samantha Warren has created!

Their is war on the horizon, and the four queens feel they might very well be over their heads. So they come together from their different lands to raise King Arthur and his twelve most reliable knights from the dead! Yeah, you heard it right. The queens feel with their King by their side they
might just be able to win the war and make it on top!

Through King Arthur's journey's he finds more then he could of imagine! He finds love in a half-human faery hunter and descendent of faery royalty girl named Aiofe. Aiofe is a strong and determined person that I enjoyed reading about. Arthur and Aiofe defentely had a spark from the beginning and I was routing for them every step of the way!

Together they have to overcome many obstacles to get through the incoming war and make it out alive!

So overall even with the slow start, I most defentely enjoyed it and thought it was a good introduction to the beginning of the series. And I am looking forward to finishing this series!

I Give This Book

Review Of Book 1

Wisteria (Wisteria, #1)

Sixteen year old Wisteria Kuti has two options—track the infected around the Isle of Smythe or leave the only known safe haven and face a world infested with flesh eating biters. But even with well-armed trackers, things go wrong and Wisteria ends up alone facing certain death, until she is rescued by the mysterious Bach. Uninfected, Bach is able to survive among the hordes of living dead.

Eighteen year old Bach, from a race known as The Family, has no interest in human affairs. He was sent here to complete his Great Walk and return home as a man—as a Sen Son. The Family regard humans as Dirt People, but Bach is drawn to this Terran girl, whom he has never seen before, but somehow knows.

Hunted by flesh eaters, cannibals, and the mysterious blood thirsty group called Red Phoenix, Wisteria and Bach make their way back to the Isle of Smythe, a community built on secrets and lies.

My Review

First I have to say this novel has left me speechless!
I have NEVER felt a thrill, like I did when reading this novel! This book had me on the edge of my seat with NON-STOP action, adventure, and drama, that I Craved for! Their was SO MANY twist and turns that I NEVER seen coming and was SO MANY parts that absolutely BLOW MY MIND!
I was turning the pages faster then I could read them because I wanted, NO I NEED MORE and I had to know what happened next!

I haven't found too many books that made me feel like Wisteria made me feel! When I was finished reading the first book and I went to bed, I could NOT get this book off my mind! I kept replaying everything over and over, and I wanted to get up at 2am and start reading the second book! That's how much I craved for MORE!

When I first read the description I thought it sounded good, but like every other Zombie Apocalypse book. But since I LOVE Zombie Apocalypse books, I decided to read it, and I am SO glad I did because this book is SO MUCH different then another Zombie Apocalypse book out there! Bisi Leyton the author of this book has brought something new and original the the Zombie Apocalypse books, that will have readers craving more!

The Plot:

A Plague has swept across the world and has taken out about 80% of the human population, and turned them into mindless blood thirsty, flesh craving animals, that want to eat you from the inside out! With only small numbers of  uninfected humans left, SOME humans have bound together to create settlements that are semi safe for humans to live without the infected trying tear them apart every chance they get! With pretty much nothing left and very limited food source, some humans have gone crazy and turned into cannibals that will befriend you, only to eat you when you least suspect it! But not ALL humans, and human settlements are like that.

On the Isle of Smythe survivors come together to create a walled safe haven for the uninfected. Everyone is expected to pull their weight and if not they are tossed out of their community and into the infected! They need to have rules and order so their settlement can thrive. Otherwise their would be no order and everyone would be out for themselves. And we all know it won't end well that way! So everyone must pull their own weight and work together if they are going to survive!

Wisteria, a 16 year old girl is trying to get by by following the rules, doing as she told, and staying off the major and the soldiers radar! She goes to school by day, being picked on and shunned by her fellow classmates, and by night she works with her mother and the other trackers, tracking the movements of the infected, getting samples from the biters (The Zombies) so the scientist can try and find a cure. Also by going outside of the walls to get what is needed and to lower the numbers of the biters by Curing them (Killing them) as they call it! Wisteria is okay with her job by night, she wants to learn how to take care of herself, and what a better way then going out and facing the worst possible thing out there, the zombies!
 Or So She Thought....

Bach is on his Great Walk, a thousand day experience away from home. He decided to leave his realm and complete his Great Walk in the human/Terran world. Bach is not human, he is a famila from a different realm. They feel that they are Superior to humans, and that ALL humans are dirt people and worse then the biters! Bach has decide to do his Great Walk here in human/Terran world because he wants to watch the human/Terran world (Terran is what Bach and his people call humans) suffer and die from the Nero Disease (The Zombie Infection)! As a young child Bach and his mother were tortured, beaten, and experimented on, and finally his mother was killed by humans/Terrans, and he HATES ALL humans and everything they represent for what they did to him and his mother! He wants to see this world die and suffer they way that he and his deceased mother did! The famila are much stronger and faster then humans/Terrans and they can turn humans/Terrans into Thayns. Thayns or Sleepwalkers as the humans call it, is when a famila shows them a card and asks that person what their greatest desire is. And when they answer with their greatest desire, the card shows them what they want, and then they are turned into Thayns. They only live to serve and please their Liege and other famila! Only a handful of humans know of the famila's existence, and they are the ones called The Red Phoenix. The Red Phoenix are a group of assassins hell bent on destroying the famila and have inquired plants and other poisonous things that are dangerous and lethal to the famila to use as weapons against them. They are searching for famila on earth and a way to get into their realm!

So when Wisteria and Bach's lives collide, they NEVER thought that they would feel drawn to each other, like they know each other, a connection that they can't explain and refuses to tell the other about! Especially Bach, with his hatefulness towards the humans/terrans. It makes him sick that he feels this way toward Wisteria, and doesn't know why! Together they experience many painful events and separation, and when the truth is revealed it will BLOW YOUR MIND!

This is A MUST READ for anyone that loves zombies, other supernaturals, adventure, action, and AMAZING TWIST!

I LOVED every minute of this book and I am SO GLAD that the second and third book is already released along with short stories too! This is one YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS!
